Brier Elementary PTA

Fundraising

Please contact our Fundraiser Chair with any questions:

Fundraising is a vital part of our Brier Elementary PTA. Each school year, we sponsor one major “Fall” fundraiser; one small, “Spring” fundraiser; and several, year-long, “passive fundraisers.” Toward the end of the school year, we also sponsor “grant fundraisers” whose funds go directly to our school library.

Our goal for the 2011/2012 school year is to raise enough funds with our major “Fall” fundraiser to not need a “Spring” fundraiser. With this goal in mind, we are actively recruiting for an Assistant-Fundraiser Chair to assist us with fundraising during the 2011/2012 school year. This individual would then become the Fundraiser Chair for the 2012/2013 school year. Please contact the PTA President if you are interested in becoming our Assistant-Fundraiser Chair this year.

Fall Catalog Sale  elliottbay  wrapitup   jewwellryboxcollectiion natureinbloom

W e will be sponsoring a Catalog Sale this Fall! This sale gives parents, family members and friends the opportunity to purchase gifts, wrapping paper, magazines and all sorts of other fun items while helping to raise approximately 3/4 of our PTA funds. This is our largest fundraiser for the year.

This year, we have changed fundraising companies and are teaming up with a local company, Elliott Bay Fundraising Company of Lynnwood. We are very excited to partner with them for our main fundraising effort this year! Elliott Bay has a fantastic customer support team and a no-hassle return / exchange policy. There will be three unique catalogs with one simple order form to make things easier for all. Families will have the opportunity to purchase beautiful lead-free and nickel-free jewelry from their Jewelry Box Collection (100% Lifetime Guarantee) and bulbs from Nature in Bloom (100% guaranteed to grow and bloom the first year). Our PTA will receive 50% of all catalog sales and 40% of jewelry and bulb sales.

Elliott Bay provides a great prize program too. There will even be a grand prize drawing for a two-foot-tall bubble gum machine! With every six items your child sells, they earn one raffle ticket. The more your child sells, the more raffle tickets they earn. The drawing will be held after all orders are turned in.  The teacher of the top participating classroom in both primary (K-3) and Intermediate (4-6) will receive a gift card.

T his sale begins October 3rd and will run for two weeks. Orders will be due Monday, October 17th. Note: There will not be a kick-off assembly due to a change in the fundraising rules of Edmonds School District. If you have any questions about the catalog or order form, please do not hesitate to call Elliott Bay at 425-712-0330 or 1-800-462-6313.

Watch for your Gift Catalog and order forms to come home on October 3rd.  There is an online catalog for those out-of-town family and friends the information will be posted, once it is available.

Passive Fundraisers

Passive fundraisers are simple to do, can help save you money through coupons and special offers, and support our PTA. Please take the time to register your cards, save box tops and save labels. Don’t forget to ask your family, friends and neighbors to enroll too. But please verify the address of our school when selecting Brier Elementary or Brier Elementary PTA – there are schools with the same name in other states!

How the program works: Onecause provides links to participating online sales merchants. All you have to do is log on to www.onecause.com to make your purchases and a percentage will be donated to our PTA. Some of the on-line merchants are: Amazon.com, ebay, JCPenny’s, target.com, Sears, Nike, Expedia, Hotwire, and many more. To find the complete listing, just visit the website.

How the program works: When making purchases at Office Depot, make sure to present our school’s id # 70106060. Then, qualifying purchases will earn 5% back for our school. Available on in-store, on-line and phone orders. Additional information can be found at Office Depot 5% Back to Schools. Funds go directly to Brier Elementary School.

Grant Fundraising

T his type of fundraising is used to raise money for a specific program. All money earned from each fundraiser can only be used for its designated purpose.

  • bookplate Book Plate Drive

With this fundraiser, families have the opportunity to purchase book plates. These are placed inside the cover of new library books that are purchased with the proceeds. This is an important fundraiser that increases and improves our library's book collection and is a great way to commemorate your child’s time here at Brier Elementary.

  • scholastic logo Book Fair

Brier Elementary PTA coordinates a Scholastic Book Fair. During the Book Fair, great Scholastic products can be purchase conveniently at our school. And, 100% of the profits go to our librarian, who purchases additional books and materials for our library.

  • Service Fundraisers (Smaller Fundraisers)

Service fundraisers are designed with the intent to make the lives our Brier families easier. The profit made by these for our PTA is minimal.

Want to show some Brier Bobcat Spirit? Be sure to purchase your spirit wear for students, parents and facility. We have short & long sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoddies to choose from. Then show your Brier Bobcat sprit on Fridays and wear your gear to school. Visit the website for details and pricing, then use the order form to place your order. We place an order in the Fall, and again in the Spring.
