with any questions:
Fundraising is a vital part of our Brier Elementary PTA. Each school year, we sponsor one major “Fall” fundraiser; one small, “Spring” fundraiser; and several, year-long, “passive fundraisers.” Toward the end of the school year, we also sponsor “grant fundraisers” whose funds go directly to our school library.
Our goal for the 2011/2012 school year is to raise enough funds with our major “Fall” fundraiser to not need a “Spring” fundraiser. With this goal in mind, we are actively recruiting for an Assistant-Fundraiser Chair to assist us with fundraising during the 2011/2012 school year. This individual would then become the Fundraiser Chair for the 2012/2013 school year. Please contact the PTA President if you are interested in becoming our Assistant-Fundraiser Chair this year.
W e
will be sponsoring a Catalog Sale
this Fall! This sale gives parents, family members and friends the
opportunity to purchase gifts, wrapping paper, magazines and
all
sorts of other fun items while helping to raise approximately 3/4 of
our PTA funds. This is our largest fundraiser for the year.
Elliott Bay provides a great prize program too. There will even be a grand prize drawing for a two-foot-tall bubble gum machine! With every six items your child sells, they earn one raffle ticket. The more your child sells, the more raffle tickets they earn. The drawing will be held after all orders are turned in. The teacher of the top participating classroom in both primary (K-3) and Intermediate (4-6) will receive a gift card.
T his sale begins October 3rd and will run for two weeks. Orders will be due Monday, October 17th. Note: There will not be a kick-off assembly due to a change in the fundraising rules of Edmonds School District. If you have any questions about the catalog or order form, please do not hesitate to call Elliott Bay at 425-712-0330 or 1-800-462-6313.
Watch for your Gift Catalog and order forms to come home on October 3rd. There is an online catalog for those out-of-town family and friends the information will be posted, once it is available.

Passive fundraisers are simple to do, can help save you money through coupons and special offers, and support our PTA. Please take the time to register your cards, save box tops and save labels. Don’t forget to ask your family, friends and neighbors to enroll too. But please verify the address of our school when selecting Brier Elementary or Brier Elementary PTA – there are schools with the same name in other states!
eScrip
How the program works: eScrip links participating stores/merchants to your registered Safeway card, debit cards, and credit cards. Each time a purchase is made at a participating merchant with a registered card, a contribution is made by the merchant to our PTA. This means, you help our PTA as you shop with certain merchants.
Log on to www.escrip.com and go to “sign up.” Designate “Brier PTA” (group ID# 8560992) to receive contributions and register your Safeway card, debit cards, and credit cards. Continue shopping as you usually would. For online shopping, simply go through eScrip’s online mall, which will direct you to the merchant sites you are already familiar with. Participating merchants include JCPenny’s, Best Buy, Home Depot, PetCo, Apple iTunes, 1-800-PedMeds, Walmart, Nordstrom, Black Angus, Azteca, some travel companies, and the list goes on and on.
How the program works: Onecause provides links to participating online sales merchants. All you have to do is log on to www.onecause.com to make your purchases and a percentage will be donated to our PTA. Some of the on-line merchants are: Amazon.com, ebay, JCPenny’s, target.com, Sears, Nike, Expedia, Hotwire, and many more. To find the complete listing, just visit the website.
Box Tops for
Education
How the program works: In October and February of each year, PTA has a Box Tops contest among classrooms to see which class(es) can bring in the most Box Tops for Education. The classes bringing in 500 or more receive a treat. All you have to do to help is cut out and send in Box Tops from participating products. Our PTA receives 10 cents per Box Top and/or the face value of each Bonus Box Top submitted. Box Tops are found on common products such as Pillsbury, General Mills cereals, Ziplocs, Gold Medal, Betty Crocker, Yoplait and many more. Send in your box tops in a baggie with your child’s name and teacher during the specified weeks. Log on to www.boxtops4education.com, and you will also find money-saving coupons and special offers.
How the program works: Collect labels from participating products and send them in to school when we offer a collection time. Labels can be found on common products such as Campbell’s Soup, Pepperidge Farms, Post Cereals, Prego, V8 juice, Bic pens, Glad Food Storage, Pop Secret and many others. And, if you register your shopping cards with Safeway, Fred Meyer and QFC you will earn e-labels on the products purchased from these stores. Labels are worth 1, 5 or 10 points. Points are redeemable by our PTA for school items in their LFE store. Log on to www.labelsforeducation.com to register your cards and find bonus offers and coupons too.

Book Plate
Drive
With this fundraiser, families have the opportunity to purchase book plates. These are placed inside the cover of new library books that are purchased with the proceeds. This is an important fundraiser that increases and improves our library's book collection and is a great way to commemorate your child’s time here at Brier Elementary.
Book Fair
Brier Elementary PTA coordinates a Scholastic Book Fair. During the Book Fair, great Scholastic products can be purchase conveniently at our school. And, 100% of the profits go to our librarian, who purchases additional books and materials for our library.
Service fundraisers are designed with the intent to make the lives our Brier families easier. The profit made by these for our PTA is minimal.
Survival Kits
Brier Elementary PTA offers a convenient way for you to shop for your child’s school-required Survival Kit. First, order a kit by September 29th, and it will be delivered to your child’s classroom around mid October. Next, follow up by sending a letter of comfort and a family picture to the classroom, where it will be placed in your child’s survival kit. Then rest a little easier, knowing your child would be more comfortable at school during an emergency. There are two kit options to choose from. Click on the order form for details.
